Emittance Exchange Workshop, LBNL (2001)
From October 3 to 16, the goal of this workshop is to develop a cooling channel that compresses the longitudinal phase space of the beam in addition to transverse cooling. A reduction of longitudinal emittance at the expense of transverse emittance is also being considered as an initial step. Beam diagnostics are an important element of the workshop, as various simulation codes are being used.
NuFACT'00 - Second International Workshop on Neutrino Factories based on Muon Storage Rings (2000)
Goals:
Review recent and ongoing studies from CERN, FNAL, KEK and INP.
Outline critical accelerator R&D issues and suggest scenarios for the formulation of international collaborations to address them.
Study the physics strengths and weaknesses of possible muon storage ring neutrino sources.
Attempt to define the machine and detector requirements for an initial physics program.
Front-End Workshop for a Neutrino Factory (1999)
Goals:
Model the front end as a complete lattice from just after the target to just before the accelerator.
Crosscheck the various simulation codes and allow for convenient interchange between them.
